Genealogy Resource Library
The Fairfield County Genealogy Society operates the Fairfield County Archives & Resource Library that is
staffed by volunteers. The library accepts email requests for simple research for a nominal fee. Research
for members during membership year is FREE and copies are FREE. Research for walk-in (non-
members) is free for the first two hours plus $0.10 per page for copies. Research for non-members is
$15.00 per request (after two hours) plus $0.10 per page for copies. Extensive information will be emailed
or snail mailed on a USB memory stick ($5 additional cost). Extensive research taking over two hours will
be returned with a list of local paid researchers.
The Fairfield County Archives & Resource Library is an affiliate resource center of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon). This means that the Resource Library account has library access.
The Fairfield County Archives & Resource Library is open/closed:
- Monday - Friday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (closed for lunch, usually Noon - 1:00 PM)
- Saturday 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM or by appointment, Sunday closed
- Volunteer staffed, please call ahead: make sure we are open & someone is available
The Fairfield County Archives & Resource Library currently has a backlog of email requests. We are in need of volunteers to research these requests. Training is available. If you can help, please contact one of our officers.

- Hard copies and indexes of some public records
- Extensive family files compiled by various researchers over the years
- Family Book Collection (Books on various families from Fairfield County)
- Local church records
- Cemetery records
- Books on Fairfield County, South Carolina, and southern and American history
- Access to several genealogical research sites and other online services for use by patrons while in the library such as: Ancestry.com, Fold3 (military records), GenealogyBank (newspapers), etc.
- Digital resources on the library's computer
